Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens Family Service Counselor

Sam has been with Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens for 23 years as a Family Service Counselor. He was born and raised the Beckley area and attended Woodrow Wilson High School and WVU. He has resided in Fayette County since 1988. He enjoys animals, reading, and trying to be helpful to bereaved families.

Funeral Assistant

Calvin has been part of the Blue Ridge Family for more than 40 years. He and his wife, Ruby reside in Beckley. In Calvin's spare time, he enjoys spending time with his family and friends.

Venetta Broyles
Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens Manager

Venetta Broyles was hired as an administrative assistant at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens at the age of 17 in August of 1969. Forty-two years later, she is still with Blue Ridge and is now the manager of the facility. A love of what you do and the challenging but rewarding experiences you have every day is how she explains her longevity in the death care services.

Gary W. Diehl
Funeral Director/Embalmer and Crematory Operator

Gary is from the Beckley area, and has been part of the Blue Ridge Family since January 1995. He is a graduate of American Academy McCallister Institute of Funeral Service in New York. Gary and his wife, Amy and their three girls live in Beckley and attend Calvary Assembley in Beckley. In his spare time, he loves spending time with his family and friends, enjoys the outdoors, and playing the piano.

Brian Gunnoe
Apprentice Funeral Director /Embalmer and Crematory Operator

Brian joined the Blue Ridge family in 2007. His was a 2006 graduate of Shady Spring High School; he is currently attending Pittsburg Institute of Mortuary Science. In his spare time he loves snowboarding, the outdoors, and spending time with his family and friends.

Michael Knotts
Funeral Director and Embalmer

Michael was a 1996 graduate of Pineville High School. He received his Associates in Funeral Service from Piedmont Technical College in Greenwood, SC, and became a Licensed Funeral Director in 2011. Michael is an ordained minister and the Pastor of Salsville Baptist Church in Saulsville, WV. He is married to the former Kellie Monk and resides in Mullens. Michael and his wife enjoys singing in local churches.

Rev. Glen Kuhn
Funeral Assistant

Glen has been with Blue Ridge Funeral Home since 2010. He is an ordained minister and is currently the Pastor of the Big Clear Creek Baptist Church. He earned his Masters in Religion from Liberty University. Glen is very involved in his community, loves spending time with his friends and family and spoiling his grandchildren.

Kenneth Lacy
Crematory Operator-in-Charge and Funeral Assistant

Kenny has been employed at Blue Ridge Funeral Home since February 1988. He has four children, Kim, Kenny, Kelly, and Keith; 7 grandchildren; and 1 great-grandchild. He lives in Meadow Bridge with his wife, Rebecca and attends the Meadow Bridge United Methodist Church, where he is a Trustee and an Usher. His hobbies include hunting, fishing, camping and woodworking.
